Alexis Potaman is a graduate of the University of Texas and Texas A&M and is currently an Environmental Planner for a Civil Engineering Design firm. She has attended Houston Oasis since the summer of 2013 and is married with one child. Alexis enjoys scrapbooking and family history (she discovered her great Grandmother had a pet pronghorn antelope!).
Jesse Hudgens has been a member of Houston Oasis for 6 years. He is a graduate of the University of Houston (Go Coogs!) and works in the geophysics industry. His interests include traveling with his partner, Scott, volunteering, photography, listening to music, and discussing the big ideas in life.
Wil has been a member of Houston Oasis since May 2016. He is a licensed primary care physician who works in Urgent Care full time. He aspires to making this world a better place, and he thinks that the Oasis core values are a great place to start. Wil's interests include live music, reading, exercising, and living life to the best of his ability.
Gary Houle has been a member of Houston Oasis for 5 years. He is a veteran and former aerospace engineer. Later he became a CFP and served as Vice President, President, and Chairman of the Board of the Houston chapter of the Financial Planning Association. His hobbies include hiking, cosmology, and computer simulation.
Ted Andrews majored in geology at Ball State University and spent almost 40 years in the oil field service industry. The oil field took him to many countries including Saudi Arabia, Mexico and Venezuela, where his wife and two boys were born. His hobbies include backpacking, gardening, and in the last few months—baking pies!
Jean Horst has been an active member of Houston Oasis for 5 years. Jean has a passion for connecting people to each other and building community. She has 3 adult sons and enjoys travel, reading, gardening, and good conversation with close friends around a table with great food.
Abhishek is an electronics design engineer and has been involved with the Freethought community for over 10 years. He shares with Oasians a passion for the Oasis Core Values, particularly those that involve giving back to the community through volunteering. He loves meeting people from various backgrounds and traveling to visit his extended family.
Laura came to Houston after completing her MFA in Costume Technology at The University of Texas at Austin. Currently, she is the costume shop supervisor at the University of Houston, and she has also created costumes for The Houston Ballet and the Alley Theatre. She and her husband Sam have been attending Houston Oasis since 2015. They have one child. Her interests and hobbies include U.S. history, cooking, and playing with her son. Laura also chairs the Houston Oasis Speaker’s Committee.
