Speaker Bio:
JOEL BURKHOLDER is the Production Manager and Technical Director for Stages in Houston, TX. Joel was just recently a part of the design committee for Houston's newest Theater complex, The Gordy. The Gordy campus houses 3 Performance spaces where Stages produces theater in house. As Production Manager and Technical Director, Joel collaborates with artists from all over and realizes designs from page to stage while managing the budget, labor, and timeline for every performance. Joel manages the Scene Shop for The Gordy. Stages produces around 14-16 productions each season. Joel attended Spring Woods High School, then Texas Tech University where he studied theatrical design and production. Before returning back to Houston after college, he was Production Manager for CALDWELL PRODUCTIONS in Lubbock, Texas and Technical Director for CACTUS THEATER where he managed productions for: Randy Rogers, Turnpike Troubadours, Wheeler Brothers, Josh Abbott Band, William Clark Green, Brandon Adams, Grupo Solido, Ram Herrera, Shelly Lares, Flaunt Girls. Prior to that he was the Technical Director for City Lights Theater, and Lindenmere Theater. Over the past 12 years Joel has contracted with theaters and schools all around Houston. Some mentionable design credits include SOUND DESIGNS: Marcia Ball, The Cricket’s Live in Concert, Justin Townes Earl, An Evening with W.C. Clark, Butch Hancock, Branson On The Road, Joe Ely Unplugged, Kenny Maines, Rt. 66 Pipes &, Sticks, Superbowl 2017 @ Museum of Fine Arts and the Bell Tower, USFN Austin, KINKAID High School’s production of Into The Woods, Five Course Love, Panto-Wonderful Wizard, End of The Rainbow, Gidion’s Knot, Xanadu, Miracle on 34th St., Always Patsy Cline, Stages Studio Sessions. LIGHTING DESIGNS: Stages Studio Sessions, Murder for Two, Shear Madness, Lubbock Moonlight Musicals production of Tarzan, Del Castillo, The Flatlanders, Roy Rivers as John Denver, Asleep at The Wheel, Jerome Bell. Joel is an Eagle Scout and an expecting father come March of 2021 with his wife Lauren!


Musician Bio:
 
Cellist David Dietz has performed across the US and Europe and is equally comfortable in Solo, Chamber and Orchestral settings. Currently residing in Houston, Texas, David is pursuing a Master's degree at Rice University's Shepherd School of Music under the tutelage of Desmond Hoebig.
