Description:
iNaturalist, a citizen science project has grown in popularity across the world. iNaturalist users make observations with a phone or pc, beginning with pictures they've taken of plants, animals, or other forms of life. The community helps identify and confirm the identity of the observation, bringing it as close to a species level ID as they can. This data can reveal migratory patterns, the spread of invasive species, and changes in populations. We'll talk about how Oasis can get involved in this, and about the City Nature Challenge coming at the end of April this year

Brian Schrock is the President of the Board of Galveston Bay Oasis and a Community Leader for the Oasis Gaming virtual chapter. He is a Geoscientist by education, a certified Texas Master Naturalist, and works as a GIS Analyst for the City of Houston's Stormwater Maintenance Branch.
Musician Bio:
Jay Bee Zay and The Nightcrawlers are an established well-rounded band in many genres, including folk, punk, blues, pop, and acoustic from Houston, TX.
