Speaker :  Aaron Rabinowitz

Aaron Rabinowitz is a PhD student in the Rutgers Graduate School of Education. He specializes in secular moral education and is currently developing a pedagogy focused on the pervasiveness of luck. Aaron hosts two philosophy podcasts: Embrace the Void (@ETVPod) and Philosophers in Space (@0gPhilosophy). The goal of both shows is to make philosophy more accessible for listeners without a philosophy background.

Community Moment : "Blue Marble Health"  by Page Williams 

Page will talk about Dr. Peter Hotez's book "Blue Marble Health" and how it references the neglected tropical diseases afflicting the poverty-stricken areas in the richest countries, how the diseases keep the stricken people in poverty, like Houston's Fifth Ward.
 

Page Williams is a long time member of the Humanist community in Houston. Nowadays she helps welcome Oasians to the Sunday Gathering every week

Enrique Infante is a native of Lima, Perú. He is a singer, songwriter, producer, author and multi-instrumentalist. He has played at Houston Oasis Sunday Gatherings many times previously. He has shared the stage with artists like Ruben Blades, Totó la Momposina, Tiempo Libre, Karlos Rosé, Toby Love, Miriam Cruz, Gilberto Santa Rosa, The Spanish Harlem Orchestra, Obie Bermúdez, Rosana, La Santa Cecilia, Grupo Niche, and Willie Colón, among many others. Houston Oasis meets in the Reunion Hall Gymnasium on the Baker Ripley campus. From Hillcroft St, turn right onto High Star Dr, then turn right into the Baker Ripley parking lot just past where the road curves to become Rookin St. You can park anywhere in this lot and follow the "Oasis" directional signs to the gym.


The program starts at 10:30 AM, and people are encouraged to come half an hour earlier for coffee, snacks, and conversation. If it's your first time visiting, make sure to stop by our welcome table in the back of the room to say hello and learn more about Oasis. Parents can drop off their young ones with our team in the kids room, where they will meet new friends and enjoy fun activities together.
