Main Topic: What is Happiness?

The United Nations General Assembly named March 20 of each year as the International Day of Happiness. This was to recognize “the relevance of happiness and well-being as universal goals and aspirations in the lives of human beings around the world.” It is accompanied by the annual World Happiness Report that ranks countries by their happiness levels. This and other efforts today reveal that serious university professors, scientists, researchers, and policymakers are now studying happiness. But what is happiness exactly? This talk explores the latest research and provides tested pathways to get there, showing that emotional self-management in the context of a purpose-driven life, punctuated with occasional moments of joy or delight, generates what we call happiness and flourishing.
