Speaker Bio:
Oasis member, Dr. E. Andrew (Andy) Boyd is a former contributor to the Engines of Our Ingenuity, a nationally syndicated radio program and podcast produced by Houston’s National Public Radio affiliate, KUHF, part of Houston Public Media. He wrote and recorded some 430 episodes over a period spanning a decade. Evan Hadingham, Senior Science Editor at NOVA, has called Engines “the best-written short-form science podcast on the internet,” adding, “Every episode is a gem.” Dr. Boyd spent ten years as a university professor and another ten as Chief Scientist at the analytics firm PROS. He received his AB with honors at Oberlin college with majors in mathematics and economics in 1981, and his PhD in operations research from MIT in 1987. He was elected an INFORMS Fellow in 2007 and was a co-recipient of the INFORMS Impact Prize in 2016. His most recent book is Beyond Comprehension: A Scientific Look at the Challenge of Knowing Everything  (Hamilton-Haverbrook, 2017).  

Musician Bio:        
Ryan Adam Wells is an award winning, world-traveled singer songwriter and storyteller.
Alternative Country, Folk-Rock sounds coupled with heartbreaking and intelligent lyrics have made Ryan a much beloved and sought after act from Texas to Australia. 
He has a big following in Texas, as he calls Houston home, and can be seen weekly at the Texas Renaissance Festival in the Fall, as part of the Sound & Fury acting troupe.

If you have tested positive for COVID-19 within the past 14 days, are waiting for COVID-19 test results, have COVID-19 symptoms, or if you have had close contact with a person who has tested positive for or who has symptoms of COVID-19 DO NOT attend an Oasis event.
