—  Pancakes are More Important than Beliefs | March 23rd 2024 —  Memorial Park Picnic Loop

**Originally scheduled for March 16th and rescheduled for March 23rd because of the rain conditions.**

Join us on March 23rd at Memorial Park for a secular twist on Shrove Tuesday at Pancakes Are More Important Than Beliefs—an inclusive celebration where we enjoy a variety of delicious pancake creations free from religious associations.

Shrove Tuesday is a holiday where various Christian denominations such as Catholics, Anglicans, and Episcopalians get together and eat a bunch of pancakes the day before Ash Wednesday. Traditionally, those things were meat, but also milk, butter, and eggs. Shrove Tuesday was the last opportunity to use up eggs and fats before embarking on the Lenten fast.

This year, we will be consuming all these ingredients after Shrove Tuesday to celebrate our freedom from religious adherence. So bring your pancakes, your crepes, your blini, your tiganites, your hotcakes, or whatever fun combination of "forbidden" foods to this year's Pancakes Are More Important Than Beliefs.
